Hi, I was just wondering if anybody knows anything about NetComm Smartmodem
V8 model number SM7720.
A friend of mine recently purchased one from an auction without any manuals
or software :(
I have figured out it is a V32bis modem and it works well at 14400 for data
connections, but I was wondering if it also does FAX.  Bitfax software
autodetects it as Default SENDFAX but when I try to send a fax it dials and
starts the usual beeping but when the fax at the other end answers it
refuses to train and just sends a continuous tone.
I have gleened the following data from the modem:
ATI0: 144
ATI1: 221 18C5
ATI3: Series 5 V 32 bis Modem Y7VDFS(A) v2.34A (c) NetComm (AUST) 1993
ATI4: Tue Feb 15 17:17:19 1994
ATI8 & ATI9 are the same as ATI3
If anybody has any info for this modem I would be most grateful.
