Hello All,
I have an ARCHIVE CORP. 'Python' Model 4326np tape drive at home , which
contains and also is the "only" existing source of a small number of vital BBS
programs for my (BBS) use. With other words I have to get some programs off
the tape drive.
The drive is a 4/8Mb 4mm DAT Drive which displays on the front 'DDS2 Digital
Data Storage'. The programs stored have been written to numerous tape
diskettes by the OS/2 Sytos software. Firmware of the drive is to my knowlegde
4.00.
It is very difficult for me to find an OS/2 standalone driver.
The history of the drive is that it was manufactured by Archive Corp for IBM
and today Seagate is in charge of it's support. Seagate can only produce
Windows, NT and other none OS2 drivers. Unfortunatly, this particular tape
drive is largly supported by proprietary backup software only.
A friend of mine, who is a BBS colleague has told me that there was an OS/2
standalone driver for this drive in existence. Source unknown.
Could someone help please?
Regards ... Wolf Cornelius
