In your very last post to Bob Klahn--

-> TR> So.......Kerry actually spent less than the full one year
-> TR> that was the normal tour of the combat zone.

Length of service again.
->
-> No...it isn't `irrelevant'. Kerry was running for president of the
United
-> States. Kerry supposedly tossed his medals away. That is an act of
contempt. A contempt for a war that has meant nothing. A news getting
excersise. A real attention getter. (I heard that they weren't his, and
that his are safely at home. I have no idea whether that is true or not.)n
my opinion real contempt is shown in the dismissing his medals as unearned.

-> TR> mention giving the enemy a propaganda victory by joining
-> TR> the likes of Jane Fonda (that `is' John Kerry in that photo
-> TR> with Fonda during a Vietnam War protest, is it not?)

-> BK>If you mean the one on the platform, no, that was a fake.
->
But there is one when she or he showed up at a rally.

Jane Fonda will always be 'Barbarella' to me...in politics she is really
intense, like a Limbaugh opposite. I'm not more readily convinced when
people shout at me :-)

-> TR> her ilk in protests. And did Kerry not actually go to Paris
-> TR> and `talk' to the Viet Cong?
->

-> BK>No, he talked to the North Vietnamese delegation.

-> The VVAW (Vietnam Veterans Against the War) sent their own
representatives to
-> Paris to meet with the representatives ot the National Liberation Front
(aka
-> the Viet Cong). John Kerry was one of those VVAW representatives who
went to
-> Paris at that time. By the way.........as a matter of interest, it is
against
-> the law for a private citizen to negotiate with representatives of
foreign
-> countries without sanction of the U.S. government.
->
Now to my long-held prejudice. I don't like many veterans groups and it
seemed to me that a lot of people want to depend the rest of their lives as
professional veterans. When they help other vets, fine, when they take
political aim not so fine, when they lie (And the Swift-Boaters are back!)
I see a well spring of non patriotism. :-|

-> Kerry not only negotiated with the enemy, including the Viet Cong, he
went on
-> to recommend that we accept all of the enemies terms.

Ok. But just whose enemy was that? I think we agree too quickly when being
told who the enemy is.
->
->
"Yes, there will be some recrimination, but far, far less than the 200,000
a
-> year who are murdered by the United States of America."

And until recently we've been keeping up. :-| (OK, that's a stretch, I
question the 600,000 figure WRT Iraq)

-> TR> But...I have room to talk also. I saw a lot more combat
-> TR> than Kerry did....spent a lot more time `in country' than
-> TR> Kerry did...

(Sigh) 'Time of service' again...

, and didn't treat with the enemy in Paris, or lie
-> TR> to Congress.

How many occasions did you have to do either?

Seriously, he was trying to end a stupid war which we stupidly continued
until we lost.

-> I have also never made running for office *about* my military service
record.
-> John Kerry did.

s John McCain does. Both honorably.
->
->
->
-> BK>>BTW, Kerry had significantly more time in combat than Bob Dole
-> BK>>did.
->
->
-> TR> And far less time than I did.

(Yet again.)
->
->
-> BK>Dole is widely considered a hero. Are you?

Tsk. An unfair question.

->
->
-> It isn't about being a hero. Its about *John Kerry* attempting to make
his
-> military service record his `ticket' to the U.S. presidency.

-> And now.......this has come to an end, and you will once more be
completely
-> ignored in future.

You keep saying that :-)

Bored yet? :-)
