Forget it. It is barely effective to use sun energy even with long periods of
sunlight- we have to accept the responsiblity to spend big capital to buy the
gear, and to be frugal in using the small amounts of electricity that can be
acquired.
But if you are willing to allocate the funds then here are some other
problems: a short sunlight situation will necessitate rapid "warm up" of the
converting system you use. This rules out any heating process and points you
to PV panels and no other option. The effective "warm up" time of a PV panel
is
pretty well instantaneous.
We await your description of the electromagnetic generator you had in mind.
Something launched by NASA could be interesting, but getting the energy to
your
apartment would not be convenient. They do have the proven technology but
unless some thousands of you will join in corporate partnership, they'll not
make a move.
This isn't Arizona.
Aye! Cheers...ALEC
