Hey all. I'm new to this echo, and I have a couple of questions.
Hopefully, I won't break any of the moderator's rules. If I do, I
apologize in advance.
Reading this echo has started me thinking again. (Yes, I do stop
thinking now and then ;)) I have a couple of questions that I would
like to ask. Any response would be appreciated.
Both my sister & I are adopted. She has expressed interest in finding
her birth parents. I do not share her sentiment. (FYI - we have
different birth parents)
I feel that by attempting to find my birth parents, I would offend my
mother. She cared for me, raised me and loved (loves) me. I have not
broached the subject with my mother. If I did, she'd probably give
whatever information she could and her blessing. But how would she
really feel?
So, Question...Is it common to feel this way and does it matter?
Second question...Would a parent, probably mother, who gave up her child
in the first place, really want to see me? I know it makes good Oprah,
but I'm talking about reality.
Any response will be greatly appreciated. It may not seem like it, but
I am open to any opinions. I believe it is only through open-minded
conversation that anyone ever learns anything.
Thanks in advance. TTYL.
