JY-> JY-> JD> getting a virus reading a message is IMPOSSIBLE
  -> ->I wouldn't say that. You can imbed a virus into a Windows Write file
an
  -> ->say to the user to double click on the icon. Not very hard to do.
JY-> TC> JD's statement is correct. If a macro is executed by Word then more
  -> TC> then reading a message is being done. Simply reading the document
  -> TC> CANNOT activate a virus.
  ->Ever heard of the AUTOOPEN macro and various other auto-executable macros
  ->in Word? Simply reading a document CAN activate a virus in Word.
Maybe your missing the point. Executing a macro is NOT "reading a
message", period. I can "read" executable code and I can launch it using
an application. To further clarify, I can read an infected Word or
Write macro in my DOS EDIT.EXE application and stand 0% chance of
activating the virus. This would be "reading" the document. If I launch
the macro in Word or Write them I'm not just reading it.
JY-> TC> It's the same thing with computer code. Reading it will not activate
a
  -> TC> virus but launching it will.
  ->Yes, that's is true with computer code though.
It's the same for ANY code. Again, it's a fact that simply reading text
will NOT activate a virus.
