SB>JJ> course, all Windows based software is slow when compared to its DOS

I'm talking "real time", which in some cases means a response time of
under one minute and in others, a response time in the order of
milliseconds. So far, I'm using Delpi-16 running under either Win-31 or
Win-95. Once one moves over to NT, physical I/O becomes a problem since
I understand that NT makes the I/O instructions privileged. At least '95
enables the ports for you after the first access. And, from what I've
seen, there are also some games in handling memory even with Win-31 as
well as Win-95.
But, all in all, I like the environment. Especially since I've started
using Take Command as my command line interpreter instead of that
gawdawful Explorer or Program Manager that Microsoft provides.
