There's a reason for that. Being a fully certified lifeguard and therefore a
certified professional rescuer AND first responder, I am legally and morally
bound to make a rescue and give aid I am certified to give, on or off duty.
This includes accidents. This encompasses doctors, burses, EMTs, and, yes,
lefeguards. If we act within or certification, we will be all right. If
not, then we could get sued even prosecuted. I hope this put light on the
subject.
