Oh, I'm sure, but these guys here are nothing short of pedantic. It
makes /me/ ashamed to even entertain the thought of being associated
with them.

I really don't know how much more I'll accumulate-I think it depends on
how much space I'm given to accumulate such things. Although I
would like to have a few different antennas to switch around on to try
different bands.

My dad has commented to me how much he hates getting up in the morning
(he's permanently 100% disabled and in a forced retirement) and heading
to his radio room (i.e. shop), only to turn on the radio and nothing on
but a bunch of contests with everyone spilling their signals all over
the place.

I personally don't like contests as I feel the nature of ham radio
should be a little more relaxed for my tastes, but to each their own.
Dad and I are interested in tinkering with digital modes since it's hard
for him to talk since the car accident burned his throat and lungs
badly. I've been wanting to experiement with Hellschreiber as I watched
a fascinating video about that mode on YouTube. Did you know Hell (as
it's called) predates fascimile by several years and has only three
moving parts in the entire receiver? It was used in WWII, I believe.

 EH> I don't mind. ;-)

If Mimi starts to drool, you get to clean it up first. :P

Later,
Sean
