the problem with IREX is that is says that it is binkp 1.1 but it is not...
it is partially implemented because the proposal changed after the IREX
author quit IREX... MBSE has a special workaround but the operator of the
MBSE system has to know about it to turn it on... it forces binkp 1.0 on
the IREX node and then things work... another problem arises if the MBSE
option is turned on and the IREX node changes to another package (eg:
binkd) which is fully binkp 1.1... at that point, MBSE doesn't (unless it
has been fixed in the last month or two) say that it is forced into binkp
1.0 mode... instead is still says it is binkp 1.1 so the remote tries to
use binkp 1.1 and we fail again with no way to deliver the mail asking to
turn that MBSE option off... the problem is being worked on AFAIK but when
a solution will be available is anyone's guess unless it already is and
i've just missed seeing the report...

anyway, if you are looking to switch from IREX, Taurus may be more to what
you want becuase it has FTP and other methods available whereas Radius and
Argus do not... if you have links using FTP and you don't want to force
them to change, then... i don't know if Taurus can do outbound delivers
using these other methods, though... i've never enabled them and played
with them...

plus all three, Radius, Argua, Taurus, need to have their documentation
(CHM file) translation from cryllic (russian/ukrainian) to english
completed... some stuff, maybe a 3rd, is done but... i've slowly been
working on doing it for several years but it is slow going as each line or
paragraph has to be dine since it is in html format and i have to pull each
portion from the midst of the html code, translate it, and then paste it
back replacing the original... what i have so far is available on my web
site where i decompiled the CHM into individual html pages... it is buried
in the fidonet section somewhere where i point several different packages
that are available... "fidonet software" i think... been a long
time :/
