It wouldn't take long at all for a person familiar with Windows or even OS
X to become comfortable with Linux with Gnome or KDE as the GUI.

Yes, they have. With Asus now installing Linux in ROM on their motherboards
and Dell, IBM etc. championing Linux, more and more people will become
familiar with it as an OS.
