Which version of MS Hearts are you trying to play in XP?  There's MS 
Hearts for a single machine and there's the version of MS Hearts which 
can be played over a network.  As far as I know, both are included with 
XP Home and Pro.

Most Win9X games should work in XP.  You'll have to try it and see.
