I use souper every day for all the OS/2 newgroups, but
never got into anything really big, as a matter of fact
I use the -C100 to set the numbers to no more that the
last 100 messages when I start a new newsgroup. Some
times souper does take a while, I have seen it wait
for several minutes before it would continue to
actually do something, but so far it has worked well
for my situation, it even worked well with some encoded
binaries that were a meg is size.
You may want to try Sqtools, I am not sure of the latest
version, or the exact name of the files, but should be
around version 12 that includes support for Vsoup. The
only problem I found with using Vsoup and Sqtools is
Sqtool will sometimes trucate a post. However, I prefer
Sqtools to Soup2Squish, so I continue to use Souper rather
than use Vsoup.
