For non-sysops, present Couriers are at an alltime best, functionally
as well as cost. My 1st Courier was a 14.4K @ $450 used! Via several
upgrades, daughter boards, etc. it is now the small footprint with x2
and CID. The June CDW catalog showed ext. Courier with x2 at $269.USA.

Happily, that is usually the case. As can be seen above, I've paid
an enormous price to get that 14.4K up to x2, yet believe me, the fun
and downright satisfaction has been enormous too.  And, my son and I
are still very contented with our zorro.net connection.
Some interesting math:
AOL alone is $19.95/mo via monthly visa billing and 28.8 access
AOL alone is $17.95/mo if 12mo's paid "upfront" and 28.8 access
HOWEVER: AOL has an annual plan of $59.40 paid "upfront" for
connection to them via any local Internet Service Provider of your choice.
THEREFORE: zorro.net at $7.42/mo + AOL at $4.95/mo = $12.37/mo annually
for -BOTH- services, with the added bonus of 56K USR connections!
