Hello!
Just came back from the web page looking to upgrade my 5240am (Optima 288 
external) to 33.6....  SHEEEEEESH!  At $200 it's an uneconomical proposition. 
 I upgraded several of the 5240's to V34 from VFC with no problem, either 
free or at a very inexpensive cost;  chip swap-out type operation.  What 
happend here?
At this price, I'd just as soon go to another manufacturer's SysOp program 
and get a brand new, fully warranted modem for $249; and have my Optima as a 
back-up to-boot!
Too bad.  ;(
