Hello PETER. 16 Dec 05 20:51, you wrote to ALL: MG>> It will be the nastiest, most negative campaign that we have ever MG>> seen in Canada. So far, this hasn't happened, but I have a feeling it'll get really nasty in January. MG>> The Bloc will sweep most of Quebec. PC> When one mentions the "BLOC"...one wonders just how they clasify PC> as a National Party, when they are only in Quebec .... Only interested PC> in Quebec...and only want to separate Quebec from Canada???? huh??? Mostly it's a protest vote, however. Most Quebecers who vote for the Bloc don't really want to seperate from Canada. They just see the other parties as not really serving their interests. PC> How only in CANADA can rebs be represented by a political party. What's the point to a political party on the federal level that doesn't really believe in the federation, nor wants to form a government? I think someone on the CBC got it right when they said, "They just want to throw a monkey wrench into the works". MG>> The Liberals will sweep most of Ontario. MG>> Depending on where the lost Conservative seats go to, there will MG>> be a minority or small majority Liberal government. If most lost MG>> Conservative seats go to the NDP, it will be a Liberal minority. MG>> If the Liberals pick them up, they will win a majority. PC> You are mostlikely right ... Anyway it looks like Harper isn't sure PC> of himself, and that comerical on the TV is just funny to watch. "No passion", was the comment from the hosts of CBC Sunday. It fits Harper to a "T". PC> Wheres my BEER and POPCORN .... What a dumb thing to argue over. PC> All they have to do is checkout the food bank, and see the same folks PC> there...after going to the beer store to cash the government cheque. None of them want to admit it, because it's not "politically correct", but the fact is that there is some truth to that "beer and popcorn" statement. PC> PC or LIBS are big business supported. Not PC... Conservative. The PC's are still around, on the fringes. It's called the Progressive Canada Party now. They're basically presenting themselves as a "not so right-leaning" alternative to the Conservatives. I agree that both are supported by big business, but the Conservatives moreso, and more supported by big oil and USA interests, where the Liberals are more supported by the traditional central Canadian corporations. Both do lots of favors for their supporters, but in my lifetime, the conservative parties have always made far more and much larger tax concessions to big corporations, and usually at the expense of the middle and lower classes. There is a general difference in philosophy in operation when comparing the two parties. The Conservatives basically believe that it's best to look after business, and keep government out of the mix. They believe in "trickle down" economics... that the businesses in turn will take care of the common man. The Liberals on the other hand, while taking care of their supporters with measures like government programs, grants and subsidies, tend not to trust corporations to take care of the general population, and see a real need for government intervention in certain areas. PC> NDP are loaded with wannabees and grassrooters wanting PC> whatever.... They are basically a labour party. Socialist in philosophy, and are mainly for the worker, and can tend to be quite outspoken at times against big corporations (although that has varied considerably with provincial NDP governments). PC> BLOC well anytime they have another vote I want to vote for 'em to PC> leave and I'll give them all my Crappie Tire coupons for their PC> currency. THEN...the rest of us can make a country. PC> hope some BLOC reads this ... --- GoldED/W32 3.0.1* Origin: MikE'S MaiL MaCHinE! (1:134/10) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 5030/786 @PATH: 134/10 3613/1275 123/500 106/2000 633/267 |
