 Had a handheld unit (Magellen 3000) that worked pretty well in Barnegat
bay in NJ. Just picked up a Garmin  220 gpsplot that uses a chip with
all land and buoys etc on the chip. Shows your boat in realtime on the
screen. Allows you to set waypoints using a cursor on screen. This is a
phenomenal unit!
