Well there's a new threat in town from the Citizens United ruling handed down
by the
Supreme Court.

It seems telecom companies like those that control the ISP's you and I
use to access the internet are claiming now that under their now
established corporate first ammendment rights ( Citizens United) under the U.S.
Constitution
allows them the right to regulate the content and speed of access to various
web sites
they want to control.

Personally I think the internet is the last hope of Democracy in this country
where high ranking corporate members of the health industries and military
industrial
complex sit on the boards of virtually all mainstream media.

IMO once they get their now legal hands on controlling the content of the
internet we're essentially done as a representative democracy.

OTOH if you're a member of the wealthiest 2 percent of the U.S. population
or a member of elite corporate America what a boon to them.

The rest of us...

Not so much.
