Ok, I went to filegate.net and downloaded cmd450e.zip.  I unzipped this
file and ran 'SCAN.EXE /?'.  It ran perfectly.  I then downloaded the 
virus update file dat4nai.zip and applied it.  

After doing this I reran SCAN.EXE and it says:

The instruction at 0x007800bc referenced memory at 0x82ff1c00.
The memory could not be read.

Anyways, I delete everything and unzip the cmd450e.zip file again and it
runs without the exception so either I got the wrong engine or I'm
applying the wrong dat files to this engine.

Can you help me clarify?
