ever heard of Parental Alienation Syndrome?
CNN "Investigators" [might better be titled "Panderers"] just aired a
'segment' on the above.
the tape is available for $19.95 plus $4.95 shipping [what a racket that
is].
a Dr. Richard Gardner [psychiatrist] coined the term and stated he was
fighting against sex abuse hysteria. he has several books out, according
to the report.
i don't recall seeing it mentioned in here or CHILD_ABUSE_ISSUES.
PAS is the term he applies to a parent who is coaching a child to
validate a sex abuse charge against the other parent, usually in a
divorce case.
CNN's report seemed highly biased against the suggestion of the
existence of sex abuse hysteria. i don't recall them doing one of these
'investigations' on FMS or false accusations. i'm going to send them
some email questioning that.
CNN gave the accusing mother all the airtime. her evidence included a
baby sitter, a private pre-school 'teacher', and a 'physicians
assistant'. no credentials were introduced for any of them and no
examining physicians were cited or produced to verify the mother's claim
of actual abuse. all the court findings, including court-appointed
psychologists, found no evidence of abuse and the mother lost custody
for lying and perseverating to the detriment of the child.
are you familiar with PAS as a defense?
TTFN.
