Hello Matt, MM>>> As part of my campaign to burn the old playbook of MM>>> campaigning I would like to emphasize the fact that I want MM>>> to advocate job creation. Without job creation we will not MM>>> get the tax revenue needed to fund the public services we MM>>> value. >> This is so obvious it's hard to believe some do not see it. MM> Yes, California Democrats particularly when businesses have fled our state MM> in MM> record number and are trying to soak Californians dry in taxes due to the MM> lost tax revenue. This is my second issue im campaigning on. Not to worry. With Governor Moonbeam in power, hippies will soon be relocating to The Promised Land. It's too bad his sister lost a few years ago. Woulda been lots more fun with a female Moonbeam in power. MM>>> Unfortunately if we elect Republicans to our state MM>>> legislature in Sacramento they will want to focus on red MM>>> meat issues of undoing LGBT civil rights laws and having MM>>> Arizona and Alabama styled laws on illegal immigrants MM>>> instead, as demonstrated in various states in our nation. >> You are too much a one issue advocate. MM> But the perception of the party has killed it in many parts of California. MM> Even if Republicans have the elixir for economic recovery since Republicans MM> uhave sed the Big Wedge against many people in our state they don't want to MM> tlisten o the Republicans. This is my main issue, I used the same issue in MM> my r2002 un for state house. At some point, politicians are going to learn the path to victory is not through party politics, but rather on grassroots politics. Republicans especially have yet to realize this. But Democrats have also failed to come to that realization. >> It's the republicans who will steal, the democrats will be too >> busy tying to keep things from falling down around our heads. MM> I agree, 2011 with Scott Walker and Rick Snyder. But Democrats havent done MM> good either, Solyndra and subsidized cars that the market does not want. MM> 250,000 in subsidies for each chevy volt. That is irresponsible. It is not the Chevy Volt that American workers are building. It is batteries for the Chevy Volt that American workers are building. The rest of the car is being made overseas, in various countries. MM> Both political parties have blood on their hands. Big Business and Corporations have screwed American workers. And our politicians have helped them do it. As a result, our economy is in tatters. Unemployment remains high, and will remain high for a long time to come. Rather than rebuilding the economy by expanding the workforce within the US, jobs are being outsourced as factories are built overseas, with products made there being imported for our laid off workers to buy. What will finally bring down unemployment is those laid off workers being too old to work, finally being old enough to receive social security benefits. Assuming the retirement age is not raised beyond their reach before they die. MM> I do agree that public employees deserve fair compensation, but we should MM> not defer their pay to future generations such as their pensions MM> when we don't know if we could afford these obligations in the future where MM> we do have a pension crash coming soon. Politicians screwed our elderly and disabled by gutting the social security trust fund in order to pay for two stupid wars (Afghanistan and Iraq). Politicians further screwed our elderly and disabled by creating unfunded drug benefit program for social security recipients. So why not screw everybody else by stealing from pensions in order to fund future wars or whatever? Folks who receive social security benefits are *entitled* to those benefits, as those folks have qualified for those benefits through their employment/working lives. Folks who receive pensions are *entitled* to those benefits, as those folks have qualified for those benefits through their employment/working lives. As a society, we should *never* take away benefits folks are entitled to, as those benefits are their rewards for a life well-spent. We will have gone back on our word, telling those folks they do not deserve to receive what they have earned. Social security is a social insurance program, not an annuity. As such, some folks have sought to twist the argument and try to make it look as if social security should be changed into an annuity. How selfish! And dangerous! Investing in the stock market may be a boon for some, but also a bust for many! Forcing Americans to trade in their security for a chance to win the powerball is beyond insane! The Japanese tried to set up their social insurance program like that. And we all know what happened to the Japanese economy. Over ten years later, the Japanese population is still reeling. All except the mafia dons who set up that system. MM> Matt Munson ~ Ontario California ~ http://www.inlandutopia.com I wish we could trade governors. Louisiana has an idiot governor who wants to give Texas all our drinking water away for basically free. A 99-year-lease, at 28 cents per 1,000 gallons for drinking water. And leave our land as desert. --Lee --- MesNews/1.06.00.00-gb* Origin: news://felten.yi.org (2:203/2) SEEN-BY: 3/0 633/267 640/954 712/0 313 620 848 953 @PATH: 203/2 0 280/5555 5003 2432/200 772/1 140/1 261/38 712/848 633/267 |
