JSÇyes...anything over the 614 rom should do...we are now at 615...
   I got them the other day to get the same fix you're looking for.
   ...you might want to add to the init strin &N17 and it'll fix it
   till you get the rom fix.

  I apologize for missing the whole thread, but am I to understand that
a simple ROM upgrade enables V.Fast 28.8 (not of course ITU V.34 28.8)
on the venerable U-1496 series modems? Heck, I'm still running rom
version 6.10a in my B model.
