Yeah, it's coming... and on the 18th, I FINALLY (after making an
appointment in /SEPTEMBER/!) get to see a doctor here at the local VA
hospital...

I've done that before myself.  I had a friend who lives in Sheboygan,
Wisconsin, call me (when I lived in Illinois) and ask me, "Where am I
at?"  She was in insulin shock and was driving with her then 8 year
old daughter. Thankfully, the daughter was a smart little girl and found
some hard candy in the car and forced Mom to eat it... all was well... then
that same friend got pulled over and arrested for DUI until it was found
she was in insulin shock (she didn't take good care of herself for a long
time).

I start to feel it when things are happening, so I can stop it.

Animals can sense when something's wrong... your dog was just trying to
take care of the ones he loves. :)
