Hi,

I resolved this problem and sent a diff to Andrew. For me the changes work
without problems. As a workaround you can redefine LOCALCHARSET in
tstruct.h from "IBMPC" to "LATIN-1" and recompile
TimEd. Then take the charmaps from MsgEd ({read,writ}maps.is1). For me this
worked out. LOCALCHARSET is IMO simply bad style. I replaced it's use with
"DefaultOutput", which is runtime configurable, since
"DefaultOutput" is just the locally used charset. Maybe this has
to be changed again. I'm not clear about this yet. Eg. MsgEd can convert
outgoing mails to CP850 or so. TimEd doesn't do this. And I don't really
know, wether this necessary or not, although some people say that it's a
good idea to do so. I'm currently thinking about adding such a conversion
(it's a nice feature and if someone doesn't like it, he can turn it off).
But then "DefaultOutput" in it's current use would be better
renamed to "LocalCharset" and "DefaultOutput" should be
the charset to convert outgoing mails to, eg. LocalCharset
"LATIN-1" DefaultOutput "CP850" or the like).
Ciao
Meikel
