Hello Arthur,

As far as I have official letter from Motorola ISG, I send you part of it:

---------------------------
MOTOROLA ANNOUNCES NEW
33.6Kbps CAPABILITY FOR 326XFAST V.34
CORPORATE MODEMS

In a move to enhance its range of corporate networking modems Motorola's
Information Systems Group (ISG), the world's largest manufacturer of modems,
has announced that its award-winning 326XFast V.34 Series of modems now
operates at up to 33.6kbps over leased or dial lines. With the new
33.6kbps rate customers will experience throughput improvement of over
15+ per cent over standard 28.8Kbps modems.

Also included in this new release are the ITU V.34 options, specifying the
31.2Kbps and 33.6Kbps DCE rates, allowing higher data rates to be
achieved on lower quality lines. These options also ensure the highest
connection and throughput over any analogue lines, enabling the 326XFast
V.34 release to automatically select the maximum baud and data rates for
each line connection.

The 33.6Kbps implementation conforms with the recently agreed extension
to the ITU V.34 standard to allow full intenetworking with other vendors who
support the standard.

European transmission production manager for Motorola ISG, said: "The
improvements in speed to our series of 326XFast modems means that they
are now, more so than ever, ideally positioned for serious dial-up and
leased line applications.
Our existing customers who have installed 326XFast V.34 products will be
able to upgrade to the new 33.6kbps rates by simply ordering an upgrade
kit consisting of PROMs, tools and instructions".

Availability The new release is available immediately and does not affect
country approvals. Customers with installed 326X V.34 modems running
revision 7.5 or higher will be able to upgrade to the new 33.6kbps rate by
ordering an upgrade kit which will be available by 1 September, 1996.
---------------------------

Sincerely,
Arturas

Note that I was supplied revision 7.7 before 1 September 1996, so I can
understand the lack of availability of the 33.6 kbps upgrade kit, but do
not understand why I couldn't be offered the 33.6 kbps upgrade kit when it
became available, especially since my 326X is still under warranty.
