As far as I recall, Splenda is a "left-handed" molecule....it was
designed to mimic a sugar molecule, but in such a way that things ciould
"bind" to it as they do with sugar.

I am going to run an experiment this fall....want to see if I can get a
Splenda mix to ferment...I suspect that it won't work.
