LB>>I was lucky: I purchased 'Alltype' - the font manipulation program, when
LB>>it was still being produce. So, on CD I have nearly 3000 fonts! and
LB>>if I need a special effect I can convert one to Geos format in no time
LB>>flat.
Is that 3000 different fonts or a file for each of the different styles
of a few hundred different fonts? I also have Alltype and have used it
quite a bit but I don't use it anymore or even have it on my hard drive.
I now use Fontmonger. The biggest difference is that AllType will make
a separate file for each different style of a font. Fontmonger converts
them to the Nimbus Q format that the font converter in Geoworks 1.X will
convert to the Geos format and all styles of a font are converted into
one file just like the original fonts that come with the Geos program.
Fontmonger will also convert most of the more complicated fonts that
AllType chokes on with the "Too Much Outline Data" error message.
LB>>In reality, though, the ones that I have on the hard drive are more than
LB>>sufficient for my needs!
Ain't that the truth?! Like I am really going to use all 2000+ fonts
I've converted:) But I enjoyed fooling around with them and sharing
what I have with other Geos users. It finally got to be too much work
with too little time available so now my collection is being marketed
commercially on CD.
