GP> If that wasn't bad enough, NRA had to immediately try & compromise
GP> our rights away again by backing Jack Brooks over Steve Stockman.
GP> With NRA's help, Brooks almost won that election, too!
DA> That was a really tough call when you look at the context. Sure
DA> Stockman is more pro-gun than Brooks.
Then its very simple . . . if you want to protect the 2nd Amend, you back
the candidate who will protect it, regardless of what you "think" his
chances might be. That way, you're allways right & don't come up red-faced
from trying to play games.
DA> The problem was nobody could
DA> predict with certainty that the Republicans would take control of the
DA> House. If Brooks, who was Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee,
DA> had been defeated *and* the Democrats retained control of the House,
DA> the Democrat with the next highest seniority on that committee would
DA> have become chairman.
DA> Do you recall who that would have been? Chuckie Schumer, that's who.
So what? Do you want to see NRA back Hitler to keep Stalin out of office?
How was that traitor Brooks any less of a traitor than Schumer? Not only
did he single-handedly advance the ban, but he did it because the Fascist
"Crime" Bill was so "necessary." Want to tell me how Schumer could have
done any worse? How do you know that pro-gunners might have a veto-proof
majority in both houses of Congress right now if NRA hadn't been backing
anti-gunners because "they have a better chance?"
Do you think George Washington would have endorsed this trash?!?
"They have a better chance" is what's bolting down the lid of the Fourth
Reich on this country right now! Its the "conflict of opposites" of the
Hegelian dialectic process & the NRA's an integral part of it . . . .
It won't be much fun to spend the rest of your short life alone in the
Gulag with your family & property stripped away from you. The NRA members
pay the salaries of NRA employees so that those employees can spend
8 hrs/day understanding politics. If they don't do what they are paid for,
then they are either bribed Traitors, or they are as uselss as "you know
what" on a boar hog & the people on this Echo should be collecting those
fat salaries & running NRA!
I think an audit should be done on NRA employees to find out who has new
cars & homes & Swiss bank accounts. As long as bribes keep coming in,
members can wait . . . . .

Besides, the Democrats _didn't_ retain control of the house & Schumer
_didn't_ take control of the Judiciary Committee. How many other pro-gun
candidates did NRA help defeat last election?
