subject: Canadian Troops Come Home

Hello All Fellow Canadians.,

I am very much alarmed at the way our PMs have blindly followed
other countrys into places based upon "ifs".

I am very sad to bear witness to the bodys of our youth coming
home to Canada for trying to bring peace and a normal lifestyle
to these regions where WE have not decided to go by a FREE vote
in the very institution that is called Parliament.

On the blind information of other leaders, we have blindly gone
into Afghanistan, to engage the Taliban, and in doing so we have
dislodged them as the government of this country, where too the
Taliban fought and wrestled control from the Communist government.

There was no Declaration of WAR against Afghanistan, in Parliament
but only a executive order from the PM's Office to the effect that
CANADA was sending it's armed forces into Afghanistan to assist our
allies, using our many pacts such as NATO as a cover.

Dispite many attempts by members of Parliament to have all this
business debated in Parliament our PMs have maintained our armed
forces in that part of the world. I wonder why, there is so
much resistance to this debate in the centre of what is the basis
for our form of Democracy?

In the intermin, there has been a stream of bodybags arriving
home along with wounded from this engagement which is a tragic
waste of our youth. They have even re-named a part of the
Highway 401 in Ontario, after them...calling them "Heroes"
which they rightly are ... but not mentioning that the part of
the road, is a road they all go ...to the coroner's office
for a medical examination, before being released to family
for burial in the family area of choice.

Those who debate all this are frowned upon, those who ask
about a parliamentary debate are branded with negative rude names
so as to make it look like we are against those who gave their
lifes for CANADA.

This Afghanistan is getting more and more to look like Iraq
which is getting more and more to look like like Vietnam, thus
CANADA now is going to have a blemish in it's image as a
nation to be trusted for peace keeping, by having been involved
in it's own form of Vietnam....Afghanistan.

"Support the Troops!" blares a TV ad or new story .... if not
you're this and that .... No sir. I do support the armed forces
of my country. I also support the rights and priveledges of
Parliament, as Parliament has the right to declare war not some
PM in his office ,late night, on the phone to some leader who
has eecutive priveledge to do so...as it seems without consent
of his legislature.

Oh yes Mr. Don Cherry can grandstand at the CNE with the
rest of them, all he wants. They can say and do as they want
with me, as I want it clearly decided by Parliament, with my
representative making his vote known, a vote which I truly hope
reflects the wishs of those he represents.

The feeling I get here...is that Canadians here in my area
are glad we are not part of Iraq. We are supportive of our
armed forces and want them to have the absolutely best to
get the job done, and help in the aftermat, and then return
home. For all the stickers and ribbons there is also it
seems a majority "silent". Why? Perhaps they don't like
all this not going thru Parliament? I have no clear cut
answer so I will seek information, and perhaps be able next
time to post the response from my MP in Ottawa.

I have had no use for the Liberals or the Conservatives
as each , as given my trust, via my vote has trashed that
trust. I might even given what I have seen in my country
just forget to vote.

In Ontario, where I live, I am voting in my first ever
Referendum this October 10th.... for a different type
of electorial system or keep what we have know. I am looking
forward to this vote, and in the meantime I am reading all
I can on the new idea, and "pros" and "cons" to make an
"informed vote". I guess after that ,I have my say on
the local MPP to the Ontario Legislature in Toronto, where
I didn't vote in the last one, due to the same happenings
expereinced with the Federal elections.

The saying is ... if you don't vote, then don't cry and
complain when something is done that you don't like.

My thoughts turn to laughter... If I vote for someone
and he betrays my trust, I am then roasted over the coals
for voting for them. If I hate the other guy...then whats
the alternate? So better to join the 60% to 70% annually
that do not vote and say why they didn't when asked.

Why ask a none-voter if you know you're going to come back
with the same old saving refrain?

YES..I will vote in the Referendum....BUT by the way the
debates went...I will either go to some alternative who
hasn't a bleeding chance...throwing away my vote, or
not vote which is the same as throwing it away.

I'd love to start a class action suite against MPs and MMPs
that after making a contract with me in getting my vote
that they forget it... I want them taken out of office
by court action or by vote in a court ordered referendum.

Well thats my piece today...what a lot of tangents to take...eh?
