this is good news... i really hate to have seen so many of the pioneering
networking technologies fall and die... WWIV, RIME/PCRelay and others...
each with their own original methods and capabilities...

FWIW: WWIV moderated message areas were the closest to usenet moderated
newsgroups in that each post to a moderated area was sent to the moderator
via private mail for approval and posting to the area or rejection with or
without a post to the sender for the rejection... in a way, i wish that FTN
had had proactive moderation instead of reactive moderation... proactive
would have completely prevented a lot of the crap posting wars that FTN
networks are known for... on the reverse side, i don't know that i would
want to have been a moderator for an active (eg: 500+ messages per day)
message area back in the day ;)
