AA> CS> As Linux distros go, Ubuntu is probably the best supported with an AA> CS> informative forum and lots of ad ons. However, since we are now runnin AA> CS> OS X Leopard I really don't have the time nor desire to mess around wit AA> CS> Linux. AA>Makes sense to devote your time and energy to Leopard! The info in the AA>Ubuntu forums is great. I am sure to seek and find answers there. Thanks AA>for the initial and brief heads-up on the merits of Ubuntu/Mepis. I would AA>not have been motivated to give them a serious try if you didn't speak up. I am sure they are great. BUT if one cannot get onto the Internet what value are they. In my situation I have been caught in a "Catch 22" I checked the Help file and it said to check the internet for instaling a modem. BUT untill I install the Modem I cannot get onto the Internet. And if one asks i na Fido Echo they Bury you in Command Line stuff that is meaningless to the to the guy starting out. --- þ SLMR 2.1a þ Typo Tom strikes agaoin* Origin: Doc's Place BBS Fido Since 1991 docsplace.tzo.com (1:123/140) SEEN-BY: 10/1 3 14/250 300 34/999 53/558 90/1 120/228 123/500 134/10 140/1 SEEN-BY: 222/2 226/0 249/303 261/20 38 100 1381 1404 1406 1418 266/1413 SEEN-BY: 280/1027 320/119 393/68 396/45 633/104 260 267 285 690/682 734 SEEN-BY: 712/848 800/432 801/161 189 2222/700 2320/100 105 200 303 2905/0 @PATH: 123/140 500 261/38 633/260 267 |
