-> We run our own SMTP server as a "hub" for WWIVnet. A simple redirect on the -> firewall can take inbound tcp/2525 and forward it to tcp/25 on the inside. -> This way, the hub can receive tcp/25 (since their ISP isn't blocking SMTP) and -> others can send to it on tcp/2525 also. -> Technically, even someone that has a blocked SMTP could run the server - -> provided all nodes sent packets on tcp/2525. Heh, for what it's worth, my mail server here (I run an SMTP server outside of the one that is part of Wildcat! on a different static IP address and FQDN). So, if you guys ever need a backup, please feel free to ask and let me know :) --- Platinum Xpress/Win/WINServer v3.0pr5* Origin: Omicron Theta * Memphis, TN * bbs.rivernet.us (1:116/18) SEEN-BY: 3/0 633/267 280 640/954 712/0 620 771 848 @PATH: 116/18 261/38 712/848 633/267 |
