Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the DAO semis come into popularity 
because of the tendency of some to put too much stress on the trigger 
subsequent to a shooting thereby delivering additional (and unnecessary) 
follow up shots?
Imagine some LEO whose just dropped a bad guy. He's standing there covering 
the perp who's laying there with the fight completely out of him, and then 
BAM!!!! A final follow up kills him. Now the witnesses might have missed 
what led up to the shooting, but nobody misses that.
