Hi,

The Gimp is probably still the best bet for editing under Linux, but have 
your friend download GimpShop, which is a skin of sorts for Gimp to make it 
look and function very closely to the way Photoshop functions.  Here's the

If your friend is familiar with Photoshop this will make Gimp oldhat for 
him.  As for Paint Shop Pro, I've never tried it under Wine, but Ihave 
under CodeWeaver's Crossover programs with no success.  

But honestly, tell him to try Gimp with GimpShop and he'll not be 
disappointed.
