BG> Perhaps, but I've never seen YYYY-MM-DD used anywhere. Not at all. The US military use it quite a bit. BO> It's reasonably common in stuff which is designed to be used BO> all over the place. One of the nicer side-effects is that BO> it's really easy to sort dates when they're written that way.. AC> Can you elaborate on the 'sorting' bit a little more? AC> (eg. how does it make it any easier to sort dates in the AC> format YYYY-MM-DD than sorting dates in the format DD-MM-YYYY ?) Think about a line starting with that date. You can sort a file of those with even a DOS SORT and no specification at all. Basically a normal alphabetical sort on the whole date gets the order right. --- PQWK202* Origin: afswlw rjfilepwq (3:711/934.2) SEEN-BY: 690/718 711/809 934 @PATH: 711/934 |
