Nothing was changed from the operation of Max 2.02's SILT.EXE - new
switches were added to generate the files needed by Max 2.02-specific
utilities. If you don't do anything, it acts just like 2.02's SILT.EXE.
You've obviously successfully convinced yourself that an upgrade from 2.02
to 3.01 would be catastrophic, hence your comments are unfounded in fact,
and are simply based on your fear of having to actually _do it_.

What "amount of difference"? There are new features in Max 3.01,
but their implementation is *optional*. The only real difference from a
user's viewpoint is the removal of the "hotflash" menu option.
All the other new stuff is there if you want to use it, but otherwise not
an issue.
