| subject: | Max/DOS & Linux dosemu? |
Has anyone here tried to run Maximus/DOS under the DOS emulator of Linux? I'm extremely reluctant to abandon Maximus, but I foresee the need at some point to be able to offer a little more in terms of connectivity than what Max currently features. Since I perceive it to be extremely unlikely that Max will be ported to Linux, it occurred to me that if Max could successfully be run with dosemu, then that would facilitate a little more orderly transition to something that is native Linux. In all candor, I can't yet envision exactly how a Max/dosemu arrangement would be set up. (And arguably, this issue is probably not even topical here.) However, there is a growing concern that if we are not more accomodative of those who would otherwise gravitate toward the Internet scene, then BBSing as we know it will essentially flatline. (Witness the megabytes of lament and nostalgia on this topic in , for example.) Any leads will be much appreciated - either here or at the address in my tagline (but no UCE, please).
