Oh Yea, And you could with a two way harness. There are other benifits from
two beams but you have to remember also that 100w to two antennas is only 50
watts to each. So if your power remains the same as to one antenna you
gain nothing but pattern change. Now if you can set the beams up in a focal
pattern with near perfect matching you can get that 3dB. Most people
just put the two antenna up and harness them together. Like headlights
on a car, you have to adjust them to work in tandem.

I believe it has to do with rockets and command destruct which works just
outside the 70cm band. Later it will be in our 70cm band.
