While listening to Paul Edwards Pete heard:tobruk live stats

G'day Paul

PE> BTW folks, I have the first live stats in for Tobruk. On

PE> 3:711/934 where ALL of my echos are passthrough, Tobruk managed

PE> to process messages at a rate of 104 messages/sec. This compares

PE> to something like 7 messages/sec for Squish (I think Squish

PE> writes to a temporary messagebase, even for passthrough areas).

PE> At 3:711/934 Tobruk only does about 11 messages/sec, and that is

PE> straight PKT to Squish messagebase.

Good to see it working well. BTW a few weeks ago i was talking to you

over in Aust_C about helping out with Tobruk and you gave me a list of

things i might like to have a go at, they where as follows.

1. A Fmail style interface to write Squish.cfg.

2. A parsing routine for route.cfg.

3. Find and fix bug in the dtsplit() function.

I decided to start at the easy end :-) and start with dtsplit().

I have FREQ'd Tobruk and the 16bit DOS msgapi and compiled it with

Quick C 2.5 however QC returns a few errors.

1st one is in module 'faddr.c' and is 'dir.h' does not exist however

this just seems to be a wrapper for direct.h anyway so can be overcome

by me just creating a dir.h that just has '#include ' in it

or defining _QC25_ and then #ifdef _QC25_ , i think the first option

is the better one.

2nd one is warnings about 'segment lost in conversion' on lines with

things like '(void)faddr;', '(void)mailproc;' and 'unused(repo);' on

them although i'm compiling in the large memory model.

3rd one is in trav.c and is " 'ffblk' uses undefined struct/union

'ffblk' " on line with 'struct ffblk ffblk;' on it, a few other errors

because of this undefined struct/union.

4th one is also in trav.c about findfirst() findnext() 'no function

prototype given'.

The good news is Tobruk compiled without errors using Symantec C++ 6.1

so looks like i'm stuck using a windows hosted IDE :-( next step is to

throw a few *.pkt files at it and see how it goes.

BTW why do you think QC choked on the code, old age maybe, has the C

std changed that much.
