 Which is not all that meaningful. Double digits is 10%.

 Over the long run Social Security has historically paid off
 better than pretty much any private sector retirement
 investment. The last few years before the 2000 drop was higher
 than normal, and resulted in the overvalued market that led to
 the collapse.

 If the market manages to drop to aprox 7000 it will have dropped
 50%. If in not much over a year that would truly be a major
 crash. Well, it is already. We went through this back in the
 '70s, we don't need to do it again.
