I'm not saying I dissagree with the idea that the Gargoyles were
_not_ a figment of his imagination, but you have some events jumbled
in your head. Quasi swung down, rescued Esmeralda, placed her on the
stone bed in that tiny room, then went out to fight the soldiers.
