The current banking credit challenges have been well covered in the press (although the cause and solutions have been covered poorly) and the corresponding impacts to some sectors of our economy. We've also heard about how the private sector is dealing with this by trimming their workforces, reducing expenses and prioritizing their cash expenses. My question is what is our government doing ? Why isn't the federal goverment looking at layoffs, cost reductions and the like ? Why must the evil private sector, that the Democrats loathe, bear the burden like they already do with burdensome taxation ? I see a few local governments cutting some expenses and others, like Detroit, holding their hands out for the federal government to print some more money and bail them out for being stupid. I don't see the federal government freezing budgets, cutting staf etc. We should be demanding it.
