Here's how I do it. It might not be what you want. I set up a message
area I call "System Bulletins" and add the following to my
MAILCHEK.MEC:

[white]Checking for System Bulletins.............
[key_poke]local.3;
[menu_cmd Msg_Area]
[key_poke]cnr;
[menu_cmd Msg_browse]

....where "local.3" in line 2 is the area as defined in my
msgarea.ctl. You'll change it to whatever you have it named.

 Then, any time I want to leave a message to "all", I leave it
in this particular area, which by the way is ReadOnly for everybody else.
Each time a person logs on that area is scanned and any new messages are
shown them.

 It works quite well, and I can leave messages everybody will see, and it's
as simple as typing in a message. Plus, I have that area set up to delete
messages over 14 days old, so I don't have to bother cleaning things up, as
it's taken care of in my nightly maintenance when SQPACK runs. I've
totally eliminated the bulletins that come with Maximus. I find my way
easier and better.

Don't forget to run MECCA.EXE on MAILCHEK.MEC after making changes.
