  I noticed something odd about the new 1.440-18.  Several times, the modem 
has
initiated retrains, even with the %E and %G both set to "0" to disable
retrains.  (One BBS it did this on is also using the Supra 28.8 external
with the 1.440-18; the other using a USR v.34)
(BTW, I did finally manage to get a connect at 31.2k, but not with the
support BBS.  For some odd reason, the best I get there is 26.4k.)
