| subject: | Modem Speed? |
WB>Hi,
WB> I have a 386 with an ordinary Serial Port. Currently, I have a
WB>2400 modem and I am thinking of buying a faster one. Could anyone
WB>tell me the maximum speed of modem which would work with my
WB>computer.
WB>Bye,
WB>William
Well you can go as high as you want however your serial ports will most
probably have 8250 UARTs.. This will stuff up things severely.. You
could buy a new serial card and grab a 28,800 no probs.. However if'n ya
not able to upgrade I would say a 9600 or a 14,400 if'n ya like :)
Hope this helps ..
Cheers
