 Equals may be substituted for equals in any expression. An
 economist would have learned that in basic algebra. It is also
 taught in logic.

 Saying DVDs cannot be erased *MEANS* no DVD can be erased. Which
 is the same as *ALL* DVDs cannot be erased. So, you can
 substitute either of those in the sentence.

 If you don't understand that don't even try to convince anyone
 that you are an economist.

 You really don't understand basic language, as well as basic
 math. Saying you are splitting hairs is saying you are splitting

 If you split hairs you split *SOME* hairs.

 Some DVDs cannot be erased. Some DVDs can be erased.

 If Earl cannot speak without raising strawmen. Then Earl raises
 strawmen every time he speaks.

 If Earl speaks when he raises straw men then it is possible that
 he does speak without raising strawmen, but that is not a given.

 In the case of Earl it's not even likely, but that's not a
 matter of grammer or logic, but observation.
