I was thinking more of Internet email. I'm also just a user on this board,
and I don't trust Fido netmail anyway.

For those forwarded messages you posted, thanks, but they're not really
that useful to me -- they don't have the proper character set flags.

Huh? Do you mean the bit that says "Welcome to MultiMail 0.46!", etc.? 
That's only shown when the program sees an older version number in the
.mmailrc file, after which the file is upgraded. So you should only see it
once per new version.
