Well I started my modeming just over 6 months ago with a Banksia 2400 
and later purchased a second hand NetComm Smartmodem M5 ( 9600 ) .. This 
had huge problems on my BBS and with connections to most others.. I then 
purchased a Banksia MyModem 14,400 and haven't had a complaint yet.  
Seems to prove the Banksia's are pretty darn good.. As for Avtek.. my 
friend has one and I shall not comment :)
