subject: Yaesu 901 repair

Jeff...many thanks for your response to my request for repair help on the
Yaesu 901..The rig belongs to a friend of mine in Ottawa..Ken, VE3CV. He
didn't feel competent enough to trouble shoot and repair...don't know if he
even lifted the hood on it. Anyway, he tripped to Toronto in hopes it could
be repaired by one of the techs he knew but the store offered little
hope...Nowadays, techs are mostly transistor and boards replacement types.
As you know it's a tube rig and really needs someone who knows their way
around with a hot soldering iron. If he strikes out in Toronto I'll suggest
we both go inside for a look-see...something I hesitate to do while he has
hopes of a "professional" job being done.
Again, many thanks. Your call looks familiar, must check the log. Vy 73
