Subject: webring site submissions

Dear friends,

I receive many posts from people who submit their site URLs to me in order
to be included in the scope-drive webring. Most of them I have to reject
because their site is not relevant to the webring and I often spend a lot
of time searching through their sites to find anything that might be
related to our topic.

Please keep the following in mind before submitting your site:

1) This is not an Amateur telescope maker webring. If you have nothing
related to telescope drive systems (Mel's or other home-custom built
systems) on your page, then do not submit your site. A handdriven dob does
not qualify for the webring, nor does a motorized focuser, nor a motorized
barn door camera etc.

2) Submit your site with the RELEVANT URL! Many times I get submissions
with the main index.html page from where a visitor would have to dig down
for hours until finding what really is of relevance for the ring topic.
Example: If your only ring related page consists of one page (ie.
drive.html) then submit your site with drive.html as URL.

3) Make sure you make no spelling mistakes submitting your URLs. Half the
submissions I get, I cannot even access.
